Having an active social life and maintaining friendships are essential to living a happy, fulfilling life. Through meaningful social interaction, students can build confidence, practice important life skills, and explore new opportunities in a fun and supportive environment.

PA Inclusive’s Transition Academy Social Club (TASC) is an inclusive program for high school students with disabilities to make memories, form friendships, and prepare for their futures.

About the Program

TASC is designed for high school students ages 14–21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and Down syndrome.

During each 10-week module, participants will engage in classroom curriculum focused on workplace readiness and job preparation. Students will also take part in a community service project, visit local businesses to explore vocational interests, learn about available workforce roles, and gain a deeper understanding of professional expectations.

TASC helps participants build friendships, develop workplace-readiness and professionalism skills, and step outside their comfort zones to try new things.

Available in 2 service regions (please specify your region when reaching out):

- Pittston, Every Tuesday Starting September 15th – Time: 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Location: PA Inclusive, 22 East St Suite 3, Pittston, PA 18640 (Smart Tech Room)
- Scranton, Every Wednesday Starting September 16th – Time: 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Location: United Neighborhood Centers: 526 Cedar Avenue, Scranton PA 18505

Increase self-advocacy by focusing on disability awareness, the transition process, and employment skills

Open House Week

Join us for an upcoming TASC Open House to meet our dedicated staff, receive informational materials, experience a mock classroom session, and learn about the activities and events students will enjoy throughout the program.

Refreshments will be provided, followed by an informational session and Q&A. Come enjoy a cup of coffee, meet other local families, and see what TASC is all about.
